You are going to miss him when he is gone. Blair was a brilliant political strategist and media operator. The New Labour project was a disciplined organisational takeover of a failed political party.
Labour will revert to losing elections and ill-disciplined internal warfare. When government whips can call for the leader to go, but do not themselves do the honourable thing and resign, you know the power of the PM is gone.
So here is my suggestion for a defiant PM's speech, and I do have some experience of writing this sort of thing...

When Alex Hilton invited me to post on here it reminded me of when Alastair Campbell was invited by a newspaper to give the Tories some advice on presentation, except Alastair got paid for his thoughts.
